Solare Datensysteme GmbH (SDS) is one of the leading companies for solar monitoring, smart energy and feed-in management. Solar-Log™ hardware and software products are used all over the world in 100 countries for monitoring PV plants, optimizing self-consumption and managing energy fed into the power grid.

Since August 2015, SDS is a subsidiary of BKW AG. BKW AG (Bern, Switzerland) is a global company for energy and infrastructure with over 6,000 employees.

International View

Limits only exist in the minds

Solare Datensysteme GmbH is represented in more than 30 countries worldwide by branch offices, service partners, sales offices and distributors. Our service partners are located in France, Italy, Switzerland, the United Kindgom, Turkey, Australia and New Zealand, and South East Asia. We have sales offices in India and Poland. Our headquarters is in Geislingen-Binsdorf, Germany ,with subsidiaries/branch offices in Bethel, Connecticut, USA, and Shanghai, China. Our development office is in Berlin, Germany.


USA

Solar Data Systems, Inc is a wholly owned subsidiary of Solare Datensysteme GmbH. The subsidiary is based in Bethel, Connecticut, and supplies the American market with innovative products. Solar Data Systems, Inc is more than just a sales office:

due to the specific market requirements, Solar Data Systems, Inc produces the GE Meter series explicitly for the American market. The series is manufactured completely in the United States.


China

The PV market in China is constantly growing. As a result, China is becoming one of the most important PV markets in the world. SDS is active in China with a branch office since October 2016. The branch office is based in Shanghai. SDS' goal is to be present on the Chinese market and to directly support  customers and the country in general with innovative products and solutions.



Berlin

Today, electric power generated from wind is making a significant contribution to the transition to clean energy. Due to the increasingly larger and more powerful wind turbines, the technology is consistently becoming more advanced. This leads to continued growth worldwide. Professional monitoring is also needed for the production of power from wind energy to ensure that electricity is produced without any problems.

For this reason, the sister company SDS Entwicklung GmbH was founded. The company develops innovative software solutions for the professional monitoring of wind parks.


Environment

Sustainability as a matter of principle: Vision becomes reality

A large portion of CO2 emissions worldwide come from energy produced from the fossil fuels. CO2 emissions can only be reduced with the increased use of renewable energy. Our products and solutions actively promote the continuous production of energy from renewable sources and the direct consumption of this energy. A clean environment is essential for us! By taking a look at the building of our headquarters in Geislingen-Binsdorf, one realizes that we do not only promote the production of energy from renewable sources: The energy for the building and for our daily work comes from renewable sources.

We use the hidden energy from our ice store system to heat our building. Two heat pumps first extract energy from the water in our storage tanks and then use this energy from the phase change (between liquid water and frozen ice) so that a large ice cube forms in the storage tank at the end of the heating phase. We use this cooling potential during hot summer months to keep the building cool.
