Combining Energy for a Greener Future

Installation of solar PV plants under 10kWp increased by 68% from July 2015 to July 2018 and is still climbing (source: BSW Solar). The reduction of feed-in tariffs has made the consumption of self-produced power one of the most important aspects of PV power. It is essential to integrate energy storage and energy management systems to continue to improve the efficiency of solar power. For this reason, VARTA Storage GmbH and Solare Datensysteme GmbH are intensifying the cooperation that they established in 2015.

Geislingen-Binsdorf, Germany, 4 October 2018: After successfully developing the intelligent charging time shift function, both companies are intensifying their cooperation. The goal is to make PV power even more appealing.
Regarding increased cooperation, Dr. Frank Schlichting, CEO of Solare Datensysteme GmbH, says, "We look forward to continuing our working relationship with VARTA Storage GmbH to ensure that PV power is used where it is generated. Intelligent Management of Energy Storage
Both companies have already made numerous improvements to the interaction of power production, storage, and consumption. The intelligent charging time shift function is one of the latest developments. This function determines the most effective time to charge the energy storage. The weather forecast data and consumption analysis are factored in to determine the most effective charging time. The Solar-Log™ energy management system then uses these calculations for the charging times. The goal is to ensure that no PV energy goes unused and that the energy storage is completely charged by the end of the day.
