Geislingen-Binsdorf, November 16, 2018: A continuously advancing energy revolution in China has made solar photovoltaic technology a clear solution. As part of their commitment to developing PV technology, last week Rhea Education led a group of 10 students including two vice presidents of Rhea Education, on a 5-day educational excursion throughout Germany. The students gained valuable insight into the European PV market and participated in discussions surrounding the quality and efficiency of PV systems.
The educational tour consisted of many site visits including a tour of Solare Datensysteme GmbH, central coordinator of the excursion and manufacturer of the Solar-Log™ energy management system. Students attended a lecture and a practical workshop led by PV Expert, Fritz Kropp. Kropp covered technology surrounding "Quality in PV systems". In addition, the students received an intensive Solar-Log™ training. The participants learned about the importance of optimizing PV production, and protecting PV systems against prolonged energy loses through the use of professional monitoring.
On the second day of the tour, Lufft GmbH provided extensive information about high-quality metrological components. Lufft’s sensor technology includes spring sensors which provide measurements to determine how weather influences the performance of PV systems. Next up, Solarzentrum Stuttgart presented ways to examine PV modules and use monitoring data to detect, analyze, and correct module problems. The group also visited the University of Stuttgart in order to better understand industry activities on a research level. University Professor Dr. Jürgen Werner presented the current projects at the Institute for Photovoltaics.
Technical workshops were on the agenda for days three and four, organized by Solar-Log™ France, Kraftwerk Solutions GmbH, and the QVSD. Students were able to put their education to practical use.
At the end of the excursion, the company WALTER konzept service GmbH presented the work and range of services of a successful PV operator. The focus was mainly on monitoring, control, and maintenance of PV systems.
"The aim of all the organizations throughout this excursion was to present the visitors from China with the various approaches to optimize system performance - from the planning stage to after-hours operation. We are pleased with the enthusiasm and interest from all participants and organizers", says Silvia Blumenschein-Schuetz, VP Sales at Solare Datensysteme GmbH (Solar-Log™).
